I began teaching private music lessons as first chair flute at Dobyns-Bennett High School and continue teaching virtual/in-person lessons at this time. My students consistently play in ETSBOA All East Band and All State band as well as the Symphony of the Mountains Youth Orchestra. I played in Kingsport Youth Orchestra & as Substitute in Kingsport Symphony Orchestra, Glynalbyn Festival Orchestra (Zane Myers, director) I am a graduate of UT (Communication. I was a member of UT Wind Ensemble (Dr. W. J. Julian director) & UT Concert Choir(Donald Neuen, director). I have a long involvement with area instrumental and vocal group. I am an instrument repair tech. Flute study with R. E Orner, Prof. John Meachem(UTK) and other visiting flutists at ETSU. As a flute instructor, I've taught at Bill's Music Shop, Joseph's MusicCenter, Music Pro Shop, Music Doctor's and others.As a church soloist and ensemble flutist, I have played at the following churches: All in Kingsport unless otherwise noted. First Baptist Church, St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, Colonial Heights United Methdodist Church, Indian Springs Baptist Church, Glenview Baptist Church, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, First Presbyterian Church(Kingsport and Johnson City), St. Paul's Episcopal Church, St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, Jonesborough United Methodist Church, Jonesborough Presbyterian Church, St. John's Lutheran Church (Abingdon, VA), Hunter First Baptist Church (Elizabethton, TN), and others. Flute soloist for NE TN/SW VA American Guild of Organists Programs, Kingsport Music Club, Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area, Tilpton Haynes Historic Site, Netherland Inn House Museum and historic Exchange Place as well as other civic fundtons. As a flute soloist, I've played for weddings and other community events.
