Receptionist; Tax Writer; Quality Assurance
CurrentStarted at H&R Block in 1987 and have worked yearly except 1992 and 2003. This is a seasonal job, during each tax season.Wrote tax returns for 3 years, also have done various other office duties; Receptionist, checking returns, processing and preparing copies for clients, and the office copy. Kept filing up to date. Placed "Cold Calls" to clients to set appointments.Wrote returns during the 2006 tax year. I handle the Quality Assurance by checking tax returns for accuracy, help identify errors and direct Tax Writers to make corrections. Submit returns by Electronic Filing, and processing refunds, from 2007 to present: I create and run reports containing results of acceptance, or rejections of tax returns from IRS and/or State. Help in correcting rejected returns, to be re-E-Filed as necessary.Mail necessary forms to the IRS as needed. Keep files and records up to date and organized, according to how out clients choose to receive their refunds.I take calls from clients, answer questions as to the progress of their returns and call clients when returns are ready for pick-up, and/or refunds are ready.I also take the required number of hourly IRS Tax courses each fall, staying eligible to work at H&R Block.
