I’m a Medical Director and Family Nurse Practitioner with 15 years’ experience leading teams, developing successful programs, securing grant funding, and advocating for policy change. I am deeply committed to improving individual and community health in Chicago. As the Medical Director for the oldest teen health center in the city, I lead strategy, drive programming, and manage nurse practitioners, physicians’ assistants, and physicians to meet and exceed organizational goals. I am an agent for change and have developed relationships locally and nationally to address needed health improvements. I am dedicated to improving processes, building partnerships, and ensuring that access to excellent healthcare is equitable.RECENT WINS:✔️Identified and successfully pursued a policy change in maximum lead levels for public housing. Secured a HRSA grant to expand services and renovate prior Board of Health space. o Collaborated with leadership team and architects to maximize space and provide case management and behavioral health services in a confidential location.o Expanded late hours to accommodate more patients. o Hired five additional staff, trained nurses, Physician Assistants, nurse midwives, and family practice residents in adolescent health. o Established a relationship with Lurie Children’s Hospital, enabling training by a pediatrician for a fellow in adolescent medicine. o Led team to continue its legacy and provide the youth of Chicago the highest quality care in a safe and welcoming environment.• Launched a new program for Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for alcohol and drug addiction. Treat patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) and expand services in the Erie Evanston clinic. • Co-founded sub-committee of Illinois Coalition for School Health Centers in 2010 to develop a standard risk assessment tools based on Bright Futures for use in Illinois school-based health centers.• Advocated for changes in Illinois law resulting in expansion of confidential medical care for homeless youth.• Taught Adolescent Health via project ECHO in 2018, 2019 and 2020 with the School-Based Health Alliance.
