Martha H. Howard, M.D. is a pioneer in the field of integrative medicine, in practice since 1982. She is founder and Medical Director of Wellness Associates of Chicago, a center for advanced integrative medicine. Dr. Howard holds a Master's Degree from Harvard University in Chinese Language and Literature, and an M.D. from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. Her medical specialty is Family Practice. She is board certified by the National Association for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She is a past board member of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and the National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioral Medicine. She is a certified hypnotherapist, and teacher of Tibetan Yoga. In her practice, Dr. Howard has worked for more than 30 years with delayed type allergies to gluten, casein, and other foods, food additives and environmental pollutants. She has had clinical experience with thousands of patients who have had remissions from many illnesses--irritable bowel syndrome, chronic sinusitis, eczema, migraine headaches, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and MS—that were found to be related to the immune response to their allergies.Dr. Howard is the co-author of a June 2015 Rodale Press book, No More Pills.
