The Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities works hand-in-hand with other City agencies to assure that the voice of the disabled community is represented and that City programs and policies address the needs of people with disabilities.We have created NYC: ATWORK, New York City's first public-private workforce development initiative for New Yorkers across all disabilities. A business-led, business-driven and person centered initiative, we build on the strengths and talents of our job-seekers, connecting them to internships, jobs and careers in all high growth sectors and in city government.Our Business Development Council, comprised of 100+HR and business leaders across all sectors, provide access to opportunities, guidance and insights. We share best practices and support our business partners by providing Disability Etiquette and Awareness Trainings, support on recruitment, interviewing and reasonable accommodations.In partnership with Office of Financial Empowerment we created Empowered NYC, to provide confidential, free and current counseling to people with disabilities and their families, focusing on SSI, SSDI, SSA overpayments, credit building and debt reduction.Our Empowered Cities Initiative, led by NYC, collaborates with Boston, Chicago. Los Angeles and San Francisco, is building a platform for municipal leaders to address the needs of the disability community on a national scale. Website launching in March 2021!

Launched Dec 2013-New Veteran and Military Family Initiative: Operation: GoodJobsEmpowering veterans and their families with the tools they need to succeed in the workplace. We assist Post 9/11 veterans, female veterans, veterans of OEF/OIF conflicts, those between the ages of 18-26, Reservists and National Guard and military family members. Operation: GoodJobs partners with a vast network of outside agencies to provide a comprehensive program catered to the individual and his/her family, including:•Job placement services and employer networking opportunities.•Skills training including resume writing skills.•Whole family financial strengthening training, including financial education and housing counseling.•Family services including, career placement help, counseling, motivation and confidence to find work.Job Placements:Goodwill works with both national and local businesses to help find the right match for the veteran and the business partner/employer. July 2013- present Director of New Initiatives and Business Partnerships Developing training and employment initiatives for Goodwill's programs and services in greater NY and northern NJ; establishing partnerships with agency consortiums, and outreach to industries and local government.Previously Director of Marketing and Career Services:Dedicated to helping people who are legally blind prepare for and obtain employment.Director of Call Forward, a training and placement program for customer service/call center industry .
