As an NPD engineer my principal task is to provide support between the product development to manufacturing engineers. I have developed the following Essential functions:- Provide maintenance of process routings, Engineering bill of materials, manufacturing specifications, product specifications measurements and product inspection. - Participate in failure analysis and problem-solving tactics by performing functional testing (vibration and dropping test). -Enter bill of Materials into SAP by releasing Engineering change Notice in Wind-chill.-Develop test plans and coordinate product testing to validate designs solutions.-Coordinate control run to validate New Product implementation.-Evaluate and coordinate supplier’s activity related to on-going projects.-Identify components/design recommendations according to sourcing, quality and production strategies-Work with manufactures and suppliers to identify component substitution required for all supply chain constraints and component discontinuations on products.-Drive standardization of, and best practices for, specification contents and component qualification requirements, informed by the type or category of parts.-Value analysis/value engineering processes with supplier base to increase productivity.
