I graduated from Colorado Mesa University in May 2017 with a Bachelor's in Business Administration with a concentration in Hospitality Management. I currently am Scheduler, Marketing and Social Media at Mountain West Dermatology Aesthetics and a Front Office Manager and Marketing Manager for a small lodge in Chaffee County, Colorado. In 2020, I started my own marketing business - Marketing by Marta - to help small businesses with their marketing and website needs! I was lucky enough to be born and raised in the industry that I love - hospitality. My parents owned and operated a hotel growing up. I could really say I have 27 years of experience in the industry - but who would believe me? Even growing up and playing with dolls, my Barbies always were hotel owners and it was always acceptable to pick up any phone call as a child with "Econo Lodge" rather than "Hello."My passion for the industry grew while I was in college, and I changed career paths from health science to hospitality management. I partner with my (mom)ager and help operate her small lodge and direct day-to-day activities, due to the fact that she doesn’t speak English very well. Currently, I have stepped down and am not as involved at Rocky Mountain Lodge, however, from across the state I still maintain the social media and spend my weekends at the lodge. My position as 'front desk manager' sometimes can be an understatement - I have installed security cameras, changed lightbulbs in a sign, painted parking stops, cleaned rooms, planted trees, designed logos, website, business cards, and legal contracts. Being apart of a small and family owned and operated business with minimum employees makes YOU the human resource department, accounting, marketing, management, legal, housekeeping, maintenance and guest services. Since college I have worked at the Doubletree by Hilton and Le MedSpa, and Body Therapeutics in Grand Junction. I wanted a career that involved my degree and experience in management alongside with my passion for skincare and makeup. Therefore, MWDA was the ideal choice! I believes that having a good sunscreen, lots of laughter and a good group of friends is the best recipe for a happy day!
