Primary EHS&S leader during sale of the company from Aerojet to American Pacific Corporation. EHS&S lead for mergers and acquisitions, regulatory interface, and legal matters. Primary EHS&S lead for developing the Biotech Pharmaceutical Exemption regulation in California's Hazardous Waste Management and Health and Safety Codes that allowed in-process treatment of process waste streams in the pharmaceutical industry. Obtained recognition and awards for the company by the State of California, DOE and several Industry Associations on at least 7 separate occasions for innovative Green Chemistry programs.Developed personnel & process safety management programs for this start up API & fine chemical manufacturing facility. Partnerships developed with regulatory agencies, business partners, clients, landlords, peers & employees established sustainable business platform for ensuring success and growth of the business. Developed and implemented a comprehensive risk assessment & risk management program to enable sufficient risk based decisions and risk tolerance for the business.

Managed Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) for 7 chemical manufacturing plants in the western US including the regulatory aftermath resulting from the release of several tons of oleum to the atmosphere from a railcar during a transfer operation. The outcome included a more proactive approach to process safety management of highly hazardous chemicals and transparency in management of EH&S programs. Also, this event initiated more robust education of regulators by the regulated community of inherent risks and effective management of those risks.
