Supported by grants from the Robert Wood Johnson and Kresge Foundations, the program aimed to advance tax-exempt hospitals’ accountability to their communities through investments and activities responsive to their communities' health needs and priorities. The program provided policy resources for state and local policymakers, stakeholders, communities, and nonprofit hospitals. By authoring issue briefs, developing content for online resources, and presentations at national conferences and webinars, contributed to the national conversation about hospitals’ responsibilities to improve community health. Conference presentations and webinars included: the Institute of Medicine, Academy Health, the American Public Health Association, the Network for Public Health Law, the American Health Lawyers Association, the National Health Policy Forum, and the National Network of Public Health Institutes.
