My aim when currently looking for a place of work is to achieve hands on experience to gain new skills and keep progressing. I've realised recently that this is one of my main driving factors to keeping getting better and not allowing myself to become too comfortable and stagnating.Through the last few years, I have worked many customer service based jobs. This has steadily improved my my confidence and how to handle various customer interactions. It has improved my communication, listening and service skills. I can now easily talk to anyone and network.I have worked with plenty of small independent food based business's. I value the interaction with those that are directly invested in the business. I feel as if there is more insight into how a business is run and the impact you have too. The pervious places I have worked for all have a high standard of final product and care about attention to detail. I have thoroughly enjoyed the face to face interaction with customers and selling products, be that Coffee, Donuts, Bread, Surf Rental or Gelato. My years industry placement was spent at Medtronic Inc in Galway, the largest Biomedical company in the world and the largest employer in Ireland. Here I worked as a quality engineer as a member of a small team. Overall, it was a useful experience, with the highlights coming from giving a presentation about a new product that was due to be released. This improved my presentation skills majorly. Other achievements outside work include completing my first marathon in October 2020. Coming in at 4:01, I was glad to have completed the virtual Chicago marathon for charity. I also completed the Mourne's 7 Summits Challenge in May 2018 for Cancer research, coming in at just over 10 hours on the 17 mile hike.
