•Published analysis and proposed policy solutions to pressing global human rights challenges, with a focus on the role of the private sector in human rights and democratic resilience. •Designed and executed the 2023 Forum on Business and Democracy, an official Summit for Democracy side event that generated more than a dozen new private sector commitments and more than 25,000 online views. •Relaunched a dormant program that achieved financial self-sufficiency in the first year, and fundraised to reach an annual budget of $700,000 in two years.

• Led Department policy engagement on extractives sector transparency policy issues, including Dodd-Frank Section 1504 and the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI). • Represented the U.S. government in negotiating with international partners on text for revised EITI global rules. • Served as Bureau lead on engagement with Burma to improve its energy sector governance and helped develop the State Department’s Responsible Investment Reporting Requirements for Burma. • Conducted bilateral engagements with governments in Africa and Asia on energy sector policy issues. • Managed and supervised six full-time staff and oversaw a nearly $10 million foreign assistance budget, including programs to build partner governments’ capacity to manage their oil and gas sectors. • Trained foreign and civil service officers on extractives sector transparency issues.

• Oversaw team responsible for crafting the day-to-day U.S. strategy to achieve implementation of Sudan’s Comprehensive Peace Agreement, including coordinating U.S. government efforts on elections, the January 2011 referendum, and the July 2011 independence of South Sudan. • Served as lead drafter for U.S. position papers and proposals for U.S.-sponsored negotiations and in support of African Union mediation efforts, including an agreement to withdraw forces from a disputed territory and deploy a UN peacekeeping mission.

• Served as lead officer for the office’s democratic transformation portfolio, including co-chairing an interagency elections working group to develop a government-wide election strategy. • Prepared briefing materials and policy guidance for Department and interagency principals on Darfur. • Managed $19 million in foreign assistance program activities to support elections, conflict resolution, and implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
