I have over two decades of professional experience in photography, specializing in creating authentic and compelling portraits by establishing meaningful connections with my subjects. For the past 10 years, I have been the go-to portrait photographer for Vinson & Elkins' business professionals, where I developed a consistent environmental portrait style for use across their website and campaigns. working closely with the marketing manager ensuring a seamless process during portrait sessions across the United States. After establishing a comfortable atmosphere, we create a series of portraits, carefully selecting the one that best captures their professional persona.My diverse portfolio includes portraits taken on-site and in conference settings, featuring individuals from various fields such as law, literature, art, music, real estate, social activism, and community leadership. In addition to corporate work, my personal projects have taken me to marginalized communities in Houston, Central America, Germany, and Kenya.Personal projects have allowed me to satisfy my desire to advocate for marginalized communities. One notable project, “The Ground on Which I Stand,” focuses on an emancipation community and has been exhibited across the U.S., featured in the Houston Chronicle and various magazines. One portrait was displayed in six museums, including the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. Another ongoing six-year project centers on the Lost Boys of Sudan in Kakuma, a refugee camp in Kenya, shedding light on their plight within the broken refugee system. This work has been exhibited at the Station Museum and various galleries, advocating for their resettlement.
