The Royal Philips Design for Excellence program improves the value and cost of our products and services by applying Value Engineering tools on steroids. I lead people from all over the world and from different functions and from our suppliers through our 8 week DfX conventions to come up with brilliant ideas for new high value and cost effective solutions. The program breaks down functional barriers and addresses supplier strategies, customer features and technical/supply chain optimisation. I coordinate the program and lead teams to find and prioritise the best ideas, make business plans and convince our senior management to implement. It requires a broad engineering background, procurement experience, value engineering and program management skills. My focus area is total solution deals, where our high tech systems are combined with third party products and services.

Strategic Commodity Manager of products and services that complement our high-tech Healthcare products and systems into total solution sales. During the three years I have lead several categories/commodities as procurer/product expert:- Construction Services in hospitals for our medical system installations- Radio Frequency shielding enclosures in hospitals for MRI systems- Outsourced Installation services for the installation of MRI systems- Medical printers for diagnostic images- Medical contrast fluid injectors for imagingBeing part of a small and entrepeurial team, I also fullfilled the coordinator role for sustainability between HQ and our controlled spend.

Purchasing manager and member of the Management Team at Philips Lighting Luminaires in the factory in Winterswijk (NL), manufacturing high end lighting fixtures for the indoor market, mainly in fluorescent lighting (TL) and more recently in LED for the office market. I lead an agile team of factory buyers, that are responsible for all factory purchases. This lean factory is typically set up for customer specific Engineered-to-Order solutions focusing on innovation, cost, quality, speed, flexibility and delivery reliability.

Purchasing Officer for the unit Lighting Controls. This unit developed electronic systems to control light for the professional market in the broadest sense:- from single light points to whole buildings- all lighting platforms- switching, dimming, color changes- daylight regulation, motion detection, IR controlling- indoor and outdoor- emergency lighting, maintenance management and logging- etc.Responsible for supplier selection, contracting and sourcing of development and production of the products at our mechatronics ODM's.

Lead as process champion a Philips Lighting wide supplier selection program for our main procurement commodities.
