Lead data scientist for building a long-term model predicting future ship visits at the Port of Rotterdam taking into account changes in geopolitics, economics, society, and technology. For example the upward tending trend in container ship sizes. This model supported advisors in many of the decisions that needed to be made, such as whether to build new berths or not, or what policy we should adapt for dangerous goods such as Ammonia.Also worked on a model for all sea-side emissions (such as CO2, N2, and PM10) within 60 kilometers of the port using AIS position data from ships with a three second resolution for the last ten years. This model was used for the port's annual report and obligations it has in terms of reporting scope three emissions.
