My passion lies with new technology. Therefore I was happy to join DIA the Data Science department of ABN AMRO. I have introduced Agile/Scrum within DIA and have been the scrum master of the following teams:1. Treasury: The team successfully created a time series forecasting model to predict cash flows. (Jul 2017 – Jan 2018)2. DoME: Creating a Dockerized Model Ecosystem for version control, release management and monitoring of data science models. (Sep 2017 – Jan 2018)In addition the two teams I was also the department Scrum Master. There were the 3 department scrum teams with the focus to improve department processes and to improve the data science capabilities of ABN AMRO in general. The data scientists worked in these department scrum teams on top of their regular work, which is building models. The department scrum teams had a positive impact on knowledge sharing, team spirit and of course the data science capabilities.

In this period I was the Scrum Master of 3 different teams:1. Racing Horses: Building Mainframe components that handle the securities chain (Jan 2016 – Jun 2017)2. TRUST: Creating a new Java application to comply with the MIFID Suitability & Appropriateness regulations (Sep 2016 – Dec 2016)3. Dragons: Improving the reporting capabilities of our Mainframe system towards customer faced applications (Jan 2017 – Jun 2017)In each team there was a part of the team working from a remote location (India). Since each team was a newly formed team I had to teach them the the agile way of working. Also there were a lot of organisational impediments that I helped the team to solve, such as more frequent releases, better handovers and setting up an automated implementation pipeline. My specialty is creating ambitious and autonomous teams and improving the environment to better support agile teams.

In 2017 ABN AMRO cooperated with 3 other European banks and the R3 consortium. The goal was to create a prototype system capable of issuing a Euro Commercial Paper by using distributed ledger technology. For this initiative I was the technical SPOC. My task was improve the cooperation between our block chain experts and the block chain experts of the other parties. There were several alignment session hosted on different locations.
