At Swoop, we focus on amazing adventures for our customers to our specialist areas: Patagonia, the Arctic and the Antarctic.Working with the Tech team, I'm responsible for maintaining and providing upgrades to an in-house CRM and CMS. Languages/frameworks used throughout these systems include jQuery/Vanilla Javascript, CodeIgniter, PHP, React and Laravel.

In an evolution to my previous role with Evergreen, I now oversee software projects, managing resources from the planning stages through to live release, also providing live-release support for a variety of customer systems. I'm also the point of contact for testing processes within the firm, developing testing standards, including trialling and implementing Unit Testing for upcoming Evergreen projects.

Evergreen is a software development company providing a range of customised solutions for business, from bespoke application software and online database applications to mobile apps.Evergreen create web based systems for a wide range of industry sectors tailoring each application to individual business needs. The software built by Evergreen help businesses streamline processes such as stock control, workforce management, logistics, sales pipelines and document management.

In January I migrated to the development team for Quote Exchange, joining a small team of developers in producing and maintaining a range of services for both internal and external customers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- In depth replcation of customer requirements, allowing the creation of Technical Specification documentation so that all parties can sign off on expectations and testing schedules.- Development and maintenance of interally-written whitelabel front ends for leading insurance brands across a range of insurance products (Car, Motorcycle, Van, Taxi and Home insurance).- Management of panels of brands on internal sites, and sub-panels of brands on external, leading insurance aggregation websites. - Weekly workload generally includes bug-fixes reported by panel members, development of new functionality to increase market competitiveness or larger projects such as new builds to add more brands to panels.- Work currently using PHP, SQL, CSS, HTML, Javascript/JQuery amongst others.

I am the first line of support for a variety of different Insurance Comparison websites and insurance brokers. Having dealt with customers by both email and phone, I collect support-log specifications which I then replicate and log within our systems. Based on priority or contractual obligations I then schedule this work in to be worked on by our developers. Once in-house testing is completed, I schedule fixes for live release and then contact customers for live sign-off once in-house testing is completed.

Having worked with IMAN, one of NIB's subsidiary companies during my gap year, I was invited to assist with the 2013 "Down Under Live" expos in Dublin and London. My work here centered around promotional activities allowing for development into a new stream of business, as the firm has never directly represented itself in the U.K and R.O.I before. I had three main responsibilities in this role. Firstly, I assisted in setting up the stand and promotional materials before the expos, and then was required to pack everything away after the shows had finished. Secondly, I was required to design a PowerPoint presentation based off a colleague's written speech to be used in front of a large seminar crowd during the expo. Thirdly, in representing the company I was there to explain the Australian medical system and "Working Visa" requirements to attendees, along with answering any additional queries presented.

Working under the subsiduary company, IMAN Australian Health Plans, I was taken on as a temp during my travels around Australia, I was designated to a team with the aim to reduce customer request back-logs caused by a recent corporate restructuring. My initial task was to process customer cancellations, and ensuring that accounts were balanced at the end of their policy dates. Once these were up to date, I was moved to a smaller team to focus on payment method updates, which involved the handling of sensitive customer payment details and ensuring that ledgers were balanced. The work did occasionally require the team to support the call centre at peak times, but the majority of shifts were chosen to ensure that out-of-hours processing could be completed. As such, even as a temp I was a key-holder for the building, ensuring that the offices were secure at the end of my shifts.

Taken on to simplify the reporting processes for the firm as managers were previously working from 'raw' downloads and being forced to spend a week or more preparing for monthly client meetings. Using Crystal Reports I was able to map out the underlying Oracle Database to our system and then design/produce reports for a variety of end users, ranging from sales, management and clients. My three years with the firm allowed me to simplify several of the business procedures by designing more efficient reporting, writing VBA Macros for daily Excel driven reports and provide phone assistance for our road-based engineers whenever their handheld devices encountered difficulties.
