As a Contractor I manages and oversee all the aspects of a project. I arrange and manage the materials, workers, equipment and services needed for completing projects on time and within budget.

Plan, schedule, organize, direct, control and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget. Handle project administration, including cost control, schedule control and change order administration. Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates..Collaborate with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetarylimitations Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics etc. and give them guidance when needed Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues

As an assistant site manager you will: Coordinate and manage the activities of all site personnel Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures. Lead and motivate the team Liaise effectively with customers.

I am responsible for coordinating all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to complete the project on schedule and within budget. This includes supervising all sub-trades, suppliers and field personnel on the project site on a daily basis.

As a Site Engineer. I am managing parts of construction projects overseeing building work undertaking surveys setting out sites checking technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly supervising contracted staff ensuring project packages meet agreed specifications, budgets and/or timescales liaising with clients, subcontractors and other professional staff, especially quantity surveyors and the overall project manager providing technical advice and solving problems on site preparing site reports and filling in other paperwork liaising with quantity surveyors about the ordering and the pricing of materials ensuring that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to. As a Site engineers work out on a construction site in all weathers and tend to work on one project at a time. Depending on the location of the project, they might need to relocate or complete a lengthy commute.
