Co-Founder and Chief executive of Empire Fighting Chance, a leading youth charity working with vulnerable young people across the UK. After working as a business analyst for over 20 years and volunteering at the Empire Amateur Boxing Club, I co-founded Empire Fighting Chance, a Bristol-based boxing charity that now provides support to nearly 5,000 young people every year. We use a powerful combination of non-contact boxing and intensive personal support, including mental health therapy, psychology and careers guidance, to challenge and inspire vulnerable young people to realise their potential.Since its conception in 2006, the charity has gone on to receive local and national awards including the GSK Impact Award for our mental health programmes and has grown to support organisations across the UK. We work closely with politicians, the police and local schools to effect real change within the most deprived communities. We were also delighted to be recognised by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in 2019 for Empire’s work. Alongside the management of Empire Fighting Chance, I am non executive director at Bristol Rovers Community Trust and a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Boxing
