High achieving independent all-through school.As Deputy Head, my role included:• Development of curriculum, staffing, timetable and day structure, achieving a better education offer (more subjects, more balanced) at significantly lower cost; • Introduction of internal assessments along with monitoring, intervention and reporting as well as the bench-marking of exam and staff performance management; • Development of teaching and learning, particularly in the use of ICT. Exam results rose significantly at GCSE and A-level during this period and have since been maintained. The school achieved a very good ISI inspection, and was recently ranked 34 of all UK independent schools, and 14th of all schools for post-16 valued added. Headline GCSE figure was 98% (5 A*-C with English and maths) and A-level was 70% (A*-A).Owing to a staffing gap, I took on responsibility for finance, premises and operations including marketing, admissions and human resources (in the role of Chief Operating Officer). For two terms, I stood in for the Head Master, making all financial, recruitment and curriculum decisions. I ran a re-structure of teaching staff to maintain a balanced budget. Show less

I was lead proposer and initial Chair of Governors at Alma Primary which opened in 2013. I conceived the idea, recruited volunteers and staff, and we purchased and configured a building and developed an innovative curriculum. This is now one of the most over-subscribed schools in Barnet.

Creation and operation of assessment and monitoring systems, initial teacher training, leadership of maths. Working with partner schools to develop quality of teaching. Hasmonean was ranked in the top 2% of schools for value added in the country and was awarded OFSTED outstanding.
