I’m the Founder and CEO of FreshOps where our mission is to simplify the operational delivery of cleaning services so that Commercial Cleaning Businesses can grow the businesses of their dreams.Growing up with parents who owned and operated a Commercial Cleaning Franchise I was witness to the struggles of managing the day-to-day operations of an industry that delivered cleaning services to a variety of clients & sites distributed across the entire city and that operated around the clock 24/7/365 with varying standards and requirements by a largely unsupervised, unskilled, multi-lingual and transient workforce. As Franchisees they had the ability to simply buy more contracts if they wanted to grow, which they did. But they lacked the business acumen, skills and tools to manage a large client base and a team of cleaners and were so stressed, overworked and burnt out they reduced their business to what they considered a manageable stage - mostly doing the work themselves. Not quite what they had dreamed of.Working for my parents from the age of 14 as a cleaner, I’ve been involved in the industry ever since as a Cleaner, Supervisor, and Manager and eventually started my own Commercial Cleaning Business with great ambitions and plans on how I could do it better.Like most entrants to the industry, I got a rude shock. While it was easy to get started, real growth was tough work. Managing that distributed workforce across all those varying sites made reliability and consistency of service difficult. Quite often losing as many contracts as we’d win each year.Systemising our operations as much as possible with lots of manual processes, spreadsheets, checklists etc helped, but it was still difficult to scale.Having experienced the same burnout as my parents did in my own business I knew there had to be a better way. It was my frustrations with trying to manage the core fundamentals of our cleaning operations with spreadsheets, checklists, and non-industry-specific software that led to the development of freshOps.Today FreshOps simplifies the delivery of cleaning services so that Commercial Cleaning Businesses can grow the number of services they deliver each week and ensure that their ceiling to growth isn’t an operational one. They can grow their businesses without sacrificing reliability, consistency and experienced cleaning services at scale.
