Providing technical support across all disciplines of plant found on a coal fired power station (Pressure Systems, Fuel handling, Rotating plant) solely working on the stations statutory compliance (PSSR, DSEAR, inspection records). Undertaking audits, outage projects, report writing and risk analysis to ensure the station remains operationally compliant.Appointed contract manager for technical engineering services and NDT contracts. Managing contracted work scope & budget expenditure, Contractor performance reviews (KPI’s), Contractor planning & purchasing along with investment proposals.Working solely on the stations inspection regime during major outage periods and ensuring inspection program remains effectively delivered on time. Working with NDT technicians on prep, inspection and report queries to aid the flow of the outage process. Having a strong involvement in the delivery, execution and completion of station outages, largest in the form of unit outage Inspection regimes with a budget control of circa £1.5 million. Operating across all sections of the industry from external clients, managerial staff and internal contractors through a professional approach, planning contractors and prioritizing work.Working on a variety of Ad-hoc engineering projects, usually critical path or generation threatening.Elected as stations representative at the coal stations power generation forum (GENSIP) within the hydrocarbons, DSEAR and solid fuels working groups.

Working as a mechanical engineer within the combustion section of the power plant. Accountable for a large number and variety of complex plant, including high speed rotating plant, regenerative heat exchangers, air transition components, milling plant and fuel transportation. Providing on-going support on emergent breakdowns and long term planned maintenance on accountable plant, using both a hands on approach and theoretical problem solving ability. Heavily involved plant safety, reliability, performance and standards are maintained, working solely towards the stations outage scope of works and short & long term business plan. Using a PCM and inspection based approach for repair and replacement prioritization.Strong participation within a team and using own initiative, liaising daily with contractors and operational staff providing technical support, Quality assurance checks and re-commissioning. Having a practical undertaking when required, carry out confined space inspections in hazardous environments.

Working within the building facilities department I oversaw a large sections of the maintenance and operation of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s property portfolio, Ranging from schools, libraries, residential homes, leisure center's and office buildings. Working on full turn key project work on small to medium size projects ranging from small commercial extensions to full heating plant & system projects. From feasibility stage, budget estimates, specification writing, design calculations & drawings, tender, contract management and handover.I undertook a number of mechanical AutoCAD drawings for small to large scale projects to office & BS standards.Heavily involve in ongoing support and guidance on reactive & cyclical maintenance, future project work and building related enquiries across the county. Working with external contractors in times of emergent works to achieve minimal to zero disruption to sites daily activities. Ranging from water leaks, gas leaks, and power outages and heating failures.
