I was born into Finance!I remember doing long division for fun (with a pencil and paper) when I was a very young child. And distinctly recall being quite surprised that my mother was not that interest in the 18 decimal place answers that I used to recite to her. Odd really. She did however in one exasperated moment suggest that “I go into accountancy” and I’ve never looked back. Thanks mum!My finance career has now spanned 3 decades and seen me do the numbers for start-ups in London, private companies in Singapore and public companies in Sydney. From discussing insurance in Basingstoke, pharmaceuticals in Rio de Janeiro and building construction Tel Aviv. From visiting packaging companies in Manchester to palm oil plantations in the Borneo jungle and transshipment vessels off the coast of eastern Russia. And pretty much everything in between.Still totally enthused about accounting and currently focusing on bookkeeping & management accounts for smaller companies and part-time CFO’s roles for large ones.
