Empowering proactive reactions to seasonal, weather, and local event impacts, working closing with supply chain to deliver efficiently. On-time delivery. Monitoring and influencing the accuracy of pick, the scheduling, and routing of deliveries to customers. Overseeing the Delivery Supervisor to deliver the results and ensure strong communication links with our delivered customers.• Safe, Secure and Legal, responsibility for the compliance to all Health & Safety, Food Safety, Alcohol Licensing, and Operators License requirements.• Managing change, Major drive within the business to improve efficiencies required new solutions to ways of working: test, train, and implement changes with continual review to become the most cost-efficient operation possible sharing solutions across the region.

- Overall management of the entire stock management function managing a budget of £15 million and management of a supplier base of over 300 companies.- Work with the buying team to formulate a sales, stock and throughput plan, whilst meeting targets for turnover, profit and stock.- Responsible for range planning, continuity re-orders, reviewing sales against line projections/budgets, taking necessary action when and where required.- Ensure store availability targets are met across a range of core and grey market skus.- Implement effective seasonal planning and forecasting to ensure sufficient stock ranges and levels to maximise sales potential and meet customer expectations.- Reviewing actual sales against budgets through; OTB and weekly trading meetings, recommending corrective action - markdowns, promotions & re-forecasting.- Oversee warehouse operations for supplier deliveries and space allocation.- Build and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders ensuring open communication, mutual cooperation and rapid resolution of issues.- Work alongside buying and marketing teams to introduce tertiary lines to support seasonal eventing.- Lead, motivate, develop and manage a high performing team within a fast paced customer facing environment.

Central, East And Scottish Borders

- Responsible for 24 stores with a turnover of c.£20 million, reporting to the Operations Director.- Effective management of all P&L activity, with a particular strength in organising and controlling labour which led to my model being adopted as the company standard.- Budget controller for the Operations Director. Updated labour model and regional benchmarking resulting in over £1m saving in payroll in 3 years. Working directly with the Finance team on annual budgets for sales and payroll working cross regionally to achieve store specific budgets.- Responsible for optimising store standards, maximising sales and customer count and ensuring strict compliance with all regulations and procedures.- Communicating all business critical information to the region in the form of conference calls, regular meetings, daily emails and a weekly information bulletin.- Developing a strategy to maintain and build upon the commercial success of the region, including the planning and execution of store openings and refits.- Coaching managers and store teams towards reaching corporate objectives and retail strategies.- Played a pivotal role in the annual conference part of the organising committee and as host and compere on the day.- Seasonal Champion with a particular focus on Christmas for 5 years which lead to newly created role of Availability and Range Manager.

Central Scotland

Responsible for a number of stores with a turnover of circa £72 million in Scotland. In addition to the day to day responsibilities in this role, I was also heavily involved in rolling out the New Brand Concept stores and refit program incorporating in-store Bakery offering. I was also the Scottish Representative involved in the Blue Sky Project run from Manchester identifying and managing change to support business growth.

Having successfully completed the Somerfield Management training program I had many successful roles as Deputy Manager in; Victoria Road in Glasgow and Polmont. Store Manager roles in Anniesland and Bellshill before undertaking many secondment roles including Sales Development Manager for central Scotland and laterally Integration Manager for the Kwiksave merger.
