I study water sensitive governance in Indonesian cities. I do this by addressing institutional design for water management; urban climate resilience; adaptive water governance for transitioning to water sensitive cities; and the socio-political relations that affect urban water systems.

I focused on translating and proofreading academic papers and reports in the fields of geography, urban and regional planning, and environmental planning, although I have worked on other topics outside these fields as well. I specialized in getting these papers published in international peer-reviewed journals. In my work, I have attention to detail and I love playing with words to find the right fit for the context.I am proud of the high-quality work I delivered as a proofreader and editor as many clients managed to publish the papers I edited including in Q1 journals such as Cities, Ocean & Coastal Management, International Journal of Disaster Resilience in the Built Environment, and Journal of Housing and the Built Environment. Moreover, I had many returning clients and I obtained most of my new clients through recommendations. This is a testament to the quality of my work.

I was part of an international research team for the research project "Local Governance and Access to Urban Services: Political and Social Inclusion in Asia". This comparative study covers Indonesia, China, India, Pakistan, and Vietnam.The Study on Political and Social Inclusion and Local Democracy in Asian Cities attempts to examine relationships between local democracy and different forms of barriers to political and social inclusion of marginalized urban communities, particularly women, youth, migrants and ethnic minorities. It raises three questions:(1) What are the barriers (structural and institutional) to political and social inclusion of the marginalized groups including women, youth, migrants and ethnic minorities in cities?(2) To what extent and how are the marginalized groups fully engaged in mechanisms and processes of local democracy – including local elections, community organization and participation, accountability and transparency of urban local governments, and better access to basic urban services – to cope with these barriers?(3) What are the policy options, innovations and good practices to meet the needs and aspirations of marginalized groups and contribute to the achievement of SDG 11? As research output, I co-wrote the country monograph for Indonesia, a co-authored book chapter, and I presented the research at an international conference. I also participated in a regional workshop with experts and researchers from the other countries in the study.

Responsibilities: Writing clarifications for land-use plans and reasoning for planned developments. This involved evaluating if planned developments are in line with the prevailing land use and spatial plans and if further assessment is needed regarding aspects such as water management, archaeological features, and possible contamination. I also processed data to update land-use plans.
