I have over 10 years experience providing industrial emergency response as an Emergency Capabilities Manager, Site Protection Manager and Fire Crew Training Instructor on top-tier COMAH sites across the UK. I am responsible managing emergency response teams to respond to incidents involving fire, explosion, chemical spills/decontamination, gas releases and rope/confined space rescue within the oil, gas and power production industry. It is my responsibility to motivate, develop and manage the site protection teams to provide an efficient, effective and robust emergency response service.I am experienced in developing and training new recruits and auxiliary firefighters working on top-tier COMAH sites in disciplines such as BA, confined space/rope rescue, pumping operations, incident command and pipeline emergency response officer training to first responders to industrial incidents. I am also involved in developing risk assessments and monitoring specialist confined space entry stand-by and hot work duties using fire fighting equipment, BA and specialist rope rescue equipment during routine plant shut downs and scheduled maintenance work.I manage and deploy multiple teams of highly skilled emergency responders specializing in fire, medical and confined space rescue across top tier COMAH sites, ensuring suitable levels of staffing were available to provide appropriate response to general site coverage and emergency situations. I would ensure crews maintained skills and competence by being involved with the development of a skills matrix listing all qualifications and when internal/external assessments were required and refreshed. I also compile reports detailing incidents that have occurred on site, site emergency alarm activations/testing, staff sickness and any other health and safety related issues. My role involves managing the logistics and distribution of PPE, vehicles and equipment between sites whilst maintaining inspection, servicing and maintenance records are kept up to date in line with legislative requirements.
