Served 4 year apprenticeship with Hawker Siddeley, London as Fabricator Welder.Worked for BOC as a Cryogenic Heavy Gauge Plater in the Road Tanker Fabrication shop.Took a position working as a fabricator working on an RF Shielded Enclosure in Stanmore London for BAE Systems in 1980. Continued working for the employer who then branched out into the UK Military Shielding market, plus European Military establishments.After the demise of the Berlin Wall, military spending was cut, therefore my work moved toward the Commercial Shielding market.After working as a sub-contractor for e.on UK, for the design, manufacture and installation of steel fabrications, I set up my own company.JTM Steel Fabrications is now heavily involved with the manufacture and supply of RF Shielded Systems to the Scandinavian market.It has now achieved and is working to ISO9001 & BS 1090 Accreditation. Since receiving accreditation, JTM has now won steel fabrication orders where end user is BAE, BMW (UK) and Network Rail (Northern).The company is based in St Helens, Merseyside with a workforce of seven.
