I spent over 30 years working with a wide range of anti-poverty, community empowerment, grant making and faith-based organisations in executive and non-executive roles. Over that time, I have started a range of organisations and managed others. These range from small start-ups to multi-million pound institutions. I now provide facilitation, management, coaching, research and writing services to a range of organisations, ranging from relatively small charities to national government. Amongst the national organisations I currently work alongside are: the Methodist Church of Great Britain, the National Lottery Community Fund, the Trussell Trust and the Scottish Government. My focus is on improving participation, including participatory budgeting, executive team development, food justice and climate change. I am trustee with Christian Aid and Faith in Community Scotland, and an adviser to Wevolution. I am at my happiest - and can make the biggest difference - when I am working with others to ensure that the wisdom and insights of people struggling against poverty & injustice are listened to and acted upon. Although happy to undertake short term pieces of work as required, I prefer to work alongside individuals, teams and organisations longer term.
