My development plan was divided into 4 phases. I went through these defined phases which are Support service, Drilling and Blasting, Load & Haul and Mine Planning.My activities included;BCM reconciliations, drilling plan survey and calculation, loading block survey, basic grade control including; drilling, sampling, sample prep assaying and modelling, hole probing, data deconvolution, understanding principles of RoM stockpile management and feed blending, generating drill plans, designing trim blocks and production blocks considering grade control, wall control factors and blast timing, reporting loading floors as a measure of drilling quality, enforcing adherence to safety procedures in the drill and blast section. Maintaining safe, healthy and accident free workplace with minimal impact on the environment in compliance with corporate and company policies and legal requirements, forecast planning, controlling of material movement for grade control, minimizing costs and equipment optimization.

My responsibilities included using survey equipment for level pickups, topographic surveys, time and motion studies on loaders and haul trucks, equipment matching, installation of DISPATCH fleet management system hardware on trucks, loaders and in control room, supervising ramp construction, ensuring load and haul activities are in compliance to the short term mine plan and insuring costs saving initiatives are implemented and enforced.

My activities includes setting up grade boxes, level pickups, high wall approach training, learning about the different drilling methods and their applicability to SU, maintaining good housekeeping around the pit and work area at all times, understanding the basic functions of mine planning and scheduling with regards to drilling, charging blast holes, firing of explosives, understanding the basic functions of dispatch modular fleet management system, time and motion studies, checking and reporting on loading rates as a measure of fragmentation.
