Martin has more than 30 years experience in planning and management of sport and recreation. Martin has specialist skills in parks management and open space planning, infrastructure charges, recreation planning, natural area management and outdoor recreation planning. Martin has been working in Qld, NSW, ACT, WA and the NT on a wide range of sport, Recreation and Open Space Planning projects. In October 2015 a new company, Otium Planning Group was formed combining the experience and project history of Strategic Leisure with the expertise and knowledge of Mike King and Kate Maddock of SGL Consulting. Providing offices across the country and more than 15 staff and associates. Martin is a director at Otium and is based in Cairns.Martin believes strongly that provision of quality public space in the urban environment is critical in ensuring healthy sustainable communities.
