Die Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) beobachtet und berichtet über Entwicklungen in der Ukraine, uns unterstützt die Implementierung der Minsker Abkommen. Schwergewicht liegt auf dem Konflikt in der Ostukraine/Donbass.-) Operationelle Koordinierung des größten Monitoring Teams der Mission (ca. 500 Personen)-) Koordinierung der von Umsetzungen der Patrol Hubs in Kramatorsk, Donezk und Mariupol.-) Beratung und Unterstützung der Teamleitung bei allen operativen Entscheidungen -) Führungsverantwortung für 14 MitarbeiterInnen

Permanently monitoring of security-threatening issues, especially the ones inherited or related to the 2001 conflict or interethnic issues, with a pro-active and reactive, Early-Warning orientated approach.- Field support to other components of the Mission through contact facilitation and information - Mediation at local levelAs per the main activity of the MO, Early-Warning focused monitoring, Monitoring Officer is focused on:• Monitoring any possible factor of deterioration of the interethnic relations in the country.• Monitoring any interethnic incident, continuation of the trend of separation, or political interference in educational environment.• Remaining in close contact with all former fighters’ bodies, and closely monitoring any political and interethnic issue related to the long-term impact of the 2001 conflict on its participants and the host country society.• Monitoring the trend of ethnocentrism of the civil society, with an emphasis on irredentism and regional-level initiatives by nationalist groups.• Monitoring any local- or national-level religious dispute with a destabilizing potential, as well as any gain of influence of radical religious groups.• Monitoring closely the security situation in the border zones through contacts with the population and Border Police forces.• Maintaining a permanent monitoring of local-level political activity of all parties, as well as local impact of central-level decisions or disputes.• Gathering information about the trend of arms profusion and circulation in the host country.• Supporting the mission’s THB Focal Point through regular reports from the field.• Supporting the mission’s Roma Focal Point through regular reports from the field. Monitoring Officer will also maintain its contact with other smaller communities.
