MISSIONLewis Engineering Corporation strives to passionately serve its customers by innovatively transforming their ideas into value.BACKGROUNDMANUFACTURING AND PRODUCTION• Provide programming and hardware support for robotic applications and automation.• Control processes, create recipes, process maps, and flow charts.• Create manufacturing routers.LEAN MANUFACTURING• Implement Lean Six Sigma principles for continuous improvements (Lean Six Sigma – Green Belt).• Conduct Kaizen Events for process improvement and to identify and reduce waste in manufacturing.MECHANICAL DESIGN• Perform complex machine design using robotics, sensors, and actuators.• Prototype, fabricate, test new products and/or systems.• Document results, findings, and recommendations in design reports.DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS• Provide solid modeling and CAD drawings, standard/sales drawings, manufacturing drawings, and tooling drawings.• Tolerance drawings and analyze tolerance stack up.• Write product procurement specifications for product performance and testing.STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS• Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) on structural and machine components.• Perform structural analysis closed-form calculations using material strength theory.• Recommend materials for applications based on material performance such as mechanical properties, fatigue performance, and corrosion resistance.THERMAL ANALYSIS• Conduct FEA on thermal systems for heat transfer analysis. • Calculate thermal loading on cooling systems for high temperature applications.QUALITY ENGINEERING• Ensure compliance to maintain and defend industry standard quality registrations, such as ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 Rev. D for design and development.• Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA) on products and processes (PFMEA) to identity potential failures and their consequences.• Qualify new products and manufacturing facilities.• Write work instructions and provide training to personnel.
