Zepp is the health-centric consumer electronics company behind Amazfit, a leading global smart wearable brand. In this role, I lead development projects related to fitness, outdoor adventure, and daily lifestyle - products that targeted a wide range of demographics. I have been able to hone my ability to create innovative designs in very competitive markets. I was directly involved with building and presenting product concepts. Umbra is an international design brand in modern, functional and affordable home products.I moved to Shenzhen, China for two years to work on design for manufacturing in Umbra's overseas office, where I have unique experience working directly with engineers and factory vendors. I led development projects of multiple home categories for Umbra catalog and custom white label brands (Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Target, etc.) I managed tasks of designers, engineers, and manufacturing vendors to ensure feasibility, quality, and cost efficiency of products in development. I gained experience in improving product concepts and resolving technical issues in design throughout the development process. I gained vital knowledge of manufacturing techniques and material processes, and learned to leverage this knowledge to innovate on our product offerings. It was a challenging and fast paced experience, that gave me a comprehensive view on the product development cycle.

I helped to design new products for the Umbra’s growing catalog, with a hands-on approach to the development process. I would help grow ideas with design research, and translate loose sketches and product concepts into technical drawings that detail materials and construction. I generated product concepts that aligned with brand & business goals; directly skills in market analysis, user research, sketching, prototyping, 3D modeling, and producing technical specifications. I was also heavily involved with Umbra’s custom developments projects, where our team would design white label products for several international stores like Bed Bath & Beyond, Crate&Barrel, Target, Walmart and The Container Store. To meet the needs of these diverse markets, I strategically modify existing product designs to align with different brand goals and achieve specific price points.
