Martin Mayr has been a member of the executive board at backaldrin International The Kornspitz Company since 2013. With more than 20 years’ experience, he specialises in finance, procurement, M&A, project management and international sales. Mayr laid the foundation for his career by studying commercial science at the Vienna University of Economics and the Johannes Kepler University in Linz.Prior to joining backaldrin, Mayr was responsible for procurement management at Tierenberg Holding for several years. Among other things, he was involved in international projects in purchasing, logistics and quality management for Böhler-Uddeholm AG in Vienna. Mayr has worked in Guatemala, Venezuela, Argentina and the Philippines and speaks several languages – in addition to German, English and Spanish, he also speaks a little French, Italian and Tagalog, the most widely used language in the Philippines.Mayr’s passion for languages and his international experience stand him in good stead at backaldrin. With its head office in Asten (Austria), the baking ingredients manufacturer has production facilities in seven locations and serves customers in more than 100 countries. Mayr has been with the company since 2007 and is responsible for purchasing, finance and international sales support.
