I have been consistently voted into the position of Director since the AGM in 2011. In addition to routine maintenance activities, I have recently been responsible for the planning and delivery of a large project to replace the roof of one of the blocks of flats. This project went through a competitive tendering process and a budget of circa £43k was allocated for the works. NXP Semiconductors offered me a summer placement due to my performance during my industrial placement. It was a project based upon Telepresence, which involved research into the current state-of-the-art systems and the feasibility of implementing such a technology using NXP products.

During my time there I contributed to a variety of software and hardware projects. I gained extensive knowledge of Linux, including both standard distributions as well as embedded Linux on set-top boxes. I wrote C programs, as well as fixing code written by other people.
