I currently serve as a specialist officer within search management. I provide training within Kent Police, the National Police College and external partners including Search and Rescue and Fire and Rescue services, providing expertise within search management, missing person behavioural patterns and risk. I lead on high priority searches required for crime and counter terrorism management and coordinate venue searches in advance of high profile visits and manage counter terrorist incidents across Kent. I have been tasked within national public order operations across the South East and have served as a specialist Disaster Victim identification officer at major national incidents.I provide tactical and specialist advice to chief officers on all matters, including counter terrorism, crime and missing person enquiries. As police search advisor (POLsa) I have been actively engaged in high profile searches, consistently reaching, and often exceeding best practice standards.I have given presentations to the National Search Centre and provide training to police officers to enhance further understanding and effectiveness around the use of the search facility in support of counter terrorism, crime and missing persons. In addition, I hold a specialist licence to provide lost person behaviour training; delivering this across police and the lowland search community to excellent review.

Neighbourhood Policing

I worked within a neighbourhood setting across rural parish areas managing local concerns and investigating crime. The need for the most personable approach with diplomacy and a real interest in local issues that affect residents was essential. I continually demonstrated a sensitive approach using exceptional conflict management skills and an ability to connect meaningfully with people even in the most challenging of circumstances. During this time, I was responsible for the force training around missing persons, delivering training to a range of officers from new recruits to leadership development programmes. I provided ongoing strategic search advice to senior officers and was tasked with the provision of pre- plan strategies for high risk individuals across West Kent. I worked in close liaison with a range of specialist services, developing and writing policy around the use of Thermal Technology.

Dog Section

I was selected to work as a specialist dog handler, this was a 24-hour responsibility role requiring continuous training and development, I went on to specialise in innovative trailing methods to locate missing people. I was deployed across Kent and on high priority cases for other police forces. I worked independently, responding to needs across a wide geographical area and delivered presentations at the highest levels; evolving training methods for the detection of human remains using specially trained detection dogs.

Intelligence Unit

I was tasked with the recruitment, handling and management of human intelligence sources ensuring full compliance with all RIPA and Kent Police legal and ethical requirements.

I served in this fast response unit addressing some of the most challenging, dangerous and high pressure situations across London and the UK. This role required the calmest and most reasoned approach to manage exceptionally demanding and heightened situations, including as a firearms officer across London. I was tasked to gather, research and utilise intelligence and was engaged in protracted and demanding surveillance operations.
