As an osteopath since 1984 I have seen many changes in musculoskeletal medicine and none more so than in the area of pain.This has:- improved our understanding of the mechanisms of pain- encouraged the inclusion of patient input into their own rehabilitation plan, which improves adherence to that plan- shown the value of patient education regarding pain- encouraged the implementation of habit changes, be they postural, functional, preventative or mindful The Burden of Disease of musculoskeletal disorders is huge in developed countries.Prolonged sitting has been shown time and again, to be a significant aggravating activity.A very recent publication in the medical journal 'SPINE' - 2017: "Do physical activities trigger flare-ups in acute low back pain episode"; by Pradeep Suri, showed that sitting was more likely to produce a flare-up of pain, than physical work.We designed Morfit to help with vehicle seats that do not fit well, we all know that things that don't fit, don't work.I am happy to talk to Fleet and Health & Safety managers, regarding their drivers' health; also to professionals in the rehabilitation/return to work/wellness sectors.
