Shipping/Receiving Inventory Coordinator

Role Summary:Collaborate with executive management to improve the planning and execution of inventory procurement, inventory cycle counts, task quality department for manufacturing inspection, return and tracing of nonconforming products, continuous improvement activities needed to improve the image of the department, and reduce the cost of shipping, receiving and inventory practices. Responsible for the importing and exporting of goods in and out of the United States throughout the entire company. Collaborate with both our US and Canadian offices to make sure all purchase orders and work orders were received into Global Shop system.Key accomplishments include:• Improved communication, teamwork, efficiency and effectiveness of the department through changes in shipping and receiving practices by negotiating lower costs for freight and UPS/Fed Ex/DHL shipments • Upgraded inventory methods necessary to decrease scrap, rework and repair costs by over 25% within the first year• Upgraded Materials Safety Data Sheets to conform with OSHA Standards• Establishing new standards for the preparation, issue and control of inventory, purchase orders, and standard work practices • Created companywide tariff code Excel sheet to be used for all goods being imported or exported to and from the United States• Led a group of employees in the creation of companywide online system tracking all purchase orders, work orders, freight shipments, quality documents and cycle counts-Complete commercial invoices for shipments going to Canada, Russia, Australia, China through both Fed Ex and the NCS Commercial Invoice template-Schedule trucks for manufacturing going both international and domestic
