Technical Architect It InfrastructureInternational Masters Publishers Oct 2005 - Jun 2010Reponsible for maintaining and improving the technical infrastructure setup at IMP, testing new technologies and implementing them when required.Key Achievements:• Managed a project where we changed WAN provider at 36 locations (managed environment to managed environment).• Internal consultant in a project where a production environment was moved from a mainframe to a Windows platform. • Internal consultant in a project where a Marketing Information System will be redone with the use of better supported software tools. The system is build in-house and needed to be replaced with an easier to support server setup. • Project member in the PCI team, this was a 3 person team where the goal was to make the company PCI compliant. Task here were to centralize the credit card software on a secure server, to check all external accessible system frequently to make them and keep them PCI compliant and to have a clear idea about who is allowed to access Credit Card data.• Implemented new monitoring tools to be able to offer the business a more active IT Service. The Manage Engine software App Manager and Op Manager are in use to monitor the existing applications and infrastructure.• Member of the IT Services management team• Visited external vendors to learn more about new technologies• Attended to meetings with external vendors about new technologies• Case studies to investigate possible WAN acceleration options ( for example Riverbed)• Manage a team of technical design engineers, Manage performance appraisals and salary reviews: agree expectations and objectives, and delegation of responsibilities and tasks• Attend to meetings with 3rd party vendors in terms of production follow up and relationship management: Data Centre partner and WAN provider• Managed several office moves.• Interviews for hiring new team members (international)• Site visits and meetings in other IMP offices. -
Client/ Server ArchitectInternational Masters Publishers Mar 2001 - Aug 2005Responsible for the desktop and server standards, setup and 2nd/3rd line support. Part of the role was also planning of replacement and OS standards. This was a global role.Key Achievements:• Project member in a project where Siebel CRM software was implemented. My role in this project was to help with hardware/OS selection, setup of the production servers and support the development team with hardware and OS related questions. As a part of the project, I worked, all together, around 2 ½ months in the US (2001).• Managed a project where several Exchange servers were consolidated into 1• Project member in a project where the desktop support was centralized. In all remote supported IMP offices, the desktop standard was the same to be able to support it from a central location.• Managed a project to have clear desktop and server standards and implement them. This was required to be able to centralize desktop support and office support.• Project member in a project where a new business reporting system was implemented (Hyperion). My role in this project was to help with hardware/OS selection, setup of the production servers and support the development team with hardware and OS related questions.• Project member in a project where the WAN was changed from a local solution type of WAN to a managed WAN.• Interviews for hiring new team members (international)• Training of new team members in IT Services.• Site visits and meetings in other IMP offices.• Worked, all together, almost 1 year in the London office (2001-2002)• Worked, all together, 3 months in Munich Germany for a project where desktop support was centralized (2003)• Worked, all together, 3 months in New York to standardize the setup in the New York offices to have it inline with the setup of the other IMP offices. It ManagerInternational Masters Publishers Mar 1998 - Feb 2001Due to the growth of the Dutch office, a bigger IT department was required which I managed.Key Achievements:• Standardize desktop setup in Dutch office• Managed a project where company wide all Windows domains were consolidated to 1 company wide Windows domain. Due to many travelling employees, this made it a lot easier to have people access there files and email in remote offices. Before this, all 30 offices had there own NT domain.• Managed a project where email was consolidated from a mixed environment with Lotus Notes, cc-Mail and Exchange to Exchange only.• On server level, OS/2 to Windows NT migration in 4 IMP offices.• Assisted in several office moves.
