Martin Strohacker is a Senior Programmer at Electric Square. Colleagues describe him as "I had the pleasure of working closely with Martin Strohacker on the development of Assassin's Creed Nexus VR, where he worked as a Performance Programmer. I wholeheartedly recommend Martin for his exceptional contributions and expertise in several crucial areas that were instrumental in the success of our project. Martin's work in optimizing the game for the Oculus Quest 2, especially in dealing with Application Spacewarp technology, was outstanding. This was the feature that allowed us to run at a silky smooth 90 frames per second, while using rendering a graphically rich world that would have been impossible even at any non application space warped framerate. His ability to fine-tune our VR experience to ensure smooth performance on this platform was remarkable, and included finding and fixing bugs in my original ASW prototype, but also extending and providing ingenious fixes for issues with the technology itself, the motion buffers. Martin's dedication to delivering a seamless and immersive VR experience greatly contributed to the project's success. In addition to his expertise with VR hardware, Martin excelled in the realm of shaders, where, as hinted at above he compensated for some of the inherent limitations for the ASW motion buffer, but also provided pipeline support to ensure all our objects (in world and in UI) could have motion vector support as needed. He created prototypes, explored different methods of motion vector clamping and produced elegant solutions that we shipped with. His shader programming skills significantly enhanced the visual quality of our game, making it not only performant but also visually stunning. Martin's proficiency in general memory and performance optimization within the Unity game engine was vital for our project. He demonstrated a strong ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, and memory constraints. One notable achievement was Martin's work on the Bulk System, which followed the DOTS (Data-Oriented Technology Stack) design principles but without using Unity ECS (Entity Component System). His ability to leverage DOTS principles in optimizing our game's performance without relying on the traditional ECS framework showcased his adaptability and creativity in problem-solving. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Martin for any project that demands excellence in these areas, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with him again in the future."
