Chief OceanographerDepartment Of National Defence Sep 2023 - PresentOttawa, Ontario, CanadaI am pleased to begin this phase of my career serving as Chief Oceanographer for the Canadian Forces Intelligence Command - Plans and Requirements at the Directorate of Meteorology and Oceanography. -
Project Officer & Senior Acoustic Data AnalystDepartment Of National Defence Jan 2021 - Sep 2023Canadian Forces Maritime Experimental & Test RangeI was employed as the Senior Data Analysts and Project Officer for the Canadian Forces Maritime Experimental and Test Ranges. CFMETR is a maritime test facility located on the east side of Vancouver Island, at Nanoose Bay. The analysis and projects that I was involved used the three-dimensional sonar tracking system data for monitoring the performance and position of objects on the range (Area WG). The 3D data allowed me to design software codes to produce extensive analysis of underwater targets and torpedo performances. -
Project Manager And Business DevelopmentAsl Environmental Sciences May 2019 - Dec 2020Brentwood Bay, British Columbia, CanadaIn my brief work period at ASL before the COVID interruption, I managed a noise analysis project of the Leviathan gas field's pipelines for Noble Energy. The gas field is located in the Israeli EEZ, approximately 130 km off the shores of Haifa, facilitated by 4 subsea wells that are connected, via a subsea manifold and two 120 km long pipelines. The analysis was intended to understand the propagation of pipeline noises when the wells are in full production & operations. -
Founder & PresidentMaritime Way Scientific Ltd. Oct 2010 - Dec 2020Ottawa, Ontario, CanadaIn 2010, I stood up a new oceanography and ocean acoustics company, Maritime Way Scientific that grew into a leading underwater acoustics analysis company in Canada. Along with over 200 projects in 8 years, I continued to foster my expertise in underwater warfare and systems. Along with the many projects, we delivered a 600 page report to the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP) showing results of an acoustic modelling study that estimates the received sound levels and potential harm to animals in the sea due to seismic bottom surveys. In addition, we worked with the US Dept of Homeland Security to develop a detection and monitoring system to track and hunt narcotics-subs (narco-subs) off the coast of Colombia and Central America. -
