An experienced and motivated Systems Engineer with over 35 years in varying IT roles, giving me a wide background of experience to call upon. I am accomplished in Project, Migration, Design, BAU, DR and Security work.Having worked with several of the larger IT solution providers on some of the largest estates in Europe I am well versed in the issues inherent to Enterprise level environments and the need to follow strict methodologies such as ITIL and Prince whilst being flexible enough to work within timescales ensuring SLAs are kept.I have experience in designing, building and supporting Physical Clusters, ESXi farms, patching and management solutions along with backup and DR.I also have several years’ experience working within a large ecommerce provider helping them achieve and retain Tier 1 PCI-DSS accreditation, working closely with the assessors, gathering information and implementing and managing the security and monitoring tooling required, to include Datacenters, Cloud and Contact CentersMore recent roles have had me working within the food industry upgrading their infrastructure to include new San Storage, ESX farms, Terminal Server farms and a new Printing environment.I have more recently been working within the NHS having completed a project to migrate 30000 mail accounts and public folders from an on premise email solution to the cloud based NHSmail platform holding 1.5 million users throughout the NHS, this has involved a large amount of discovery and planning before migrating all users over using a big bang approach ensuring continuation of service as well as data integrity. Due to onset of the Covid pandemic I was asked to roll out at pace a number of solutions to aid the new challenges forced upon the NHS one of which being MS Teams and allowing the trust to function with the home working requirement.My current daily role involves working with stakeholders, suppliers and users of all levels to identify obsolete and outdated systems, understanding how the work and planning and carrying out a scheme of work to migrate them to a supported platform or a new solution as needs and funding dictate, this is extremely varied and encompasses all areas within the trust.Now looking for a new and challenging position, one which will make best use of my existing skills and experience and also further my personal and professional development
