A Chartered Engineer (CEng) with an Executive MBA, Martin has over twenty five years experience working in both the private and public sectors. The first ten years of his career he worked in the construction sector, progressing through the ranks from site engineer to senior construction manager. In 2003 he joined Cavan County Fire Service as an operational fire officer. Shortly after joining he completed an MSc in Fire & Explosion Engineering which he combined with his construction knowledge for the assessment of fire safety strategies. More recently he established a research and development team within Dublin City University to work on an innovative solution to assist first responders to navigate within smoke filled buildings, entitled 'Pathfinder'. He is passionate about combining all his knowledge and experience in the pursuit of determining innovative technology solutions to protect our first responders.
