Other topics I explored include cloud infrastructure, automatic differentiation, and languages with novel approaches to programming, such as Julia and Rust.I was a PhD representative on the department board for two years and assisted in the interviewing and hiring of new PhD students. I also was heavily involved in the development of a course on optimization for machine learning.
