My role is to assist the Permanent Secretary to provide strategic leadership in the development, implementation, monitoring and review of policies, laws, strategies and programmes on labour, employment services, industrial relations, productivity and Occupational Safety and Health

Center for Labour Research and Studies is a non-profit research organization that is committed to promoting better work through labour market policy research. Roles included: •Providing technical advice to workers’ and employers’ organisations on the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of national laws and policies on labour, employment and occupational safety and health•Facilitating workers’ and employers’ organizations to provide evidence-based policy proposals to government and facilitating their participation in the design, implementation and evaluation of national Decent Work Agenda strategies and plans•Assisting employers and workers’ organizations to access up-to-date information on Uganda’s labour and employment policy developments under the overall framework of the Decent Work Country Programme •Responsible for the management of all resources allocated to the center and maintaining the image and reputation of the Center•Preparation of Annual Performance review reports of the Center•Coordinating institutional and staff performance management at the center•Supporting the Ministry responsible for labour as well as workers’ and employers’ organisations in implementing International Labour Standards and supervisory bodies’ recommendations•Promoting a harmonious working environment which encourages learning and in which all staff can discharge their professional responsibilities in an efficient and effective way and are treated with respect, dignity and courtesy.• Coordinating the safety and security of center staff in accordance with center rules •Working with the Uganda Police ensure that with all staff participate in security and fire training exercises and comply with applicable security policies and instructions•Coordinated formulation and execution of studies on labour market and socioeconomic policies•Coordinated planning and directed strategically the administrative operations of the Center
