Principal role was development of tax policy. The role required frequent interaction and advice to Treasury portfolio Ministers.

Commenced as a university graduate. Majority of the time was spent as part of the budget coordination team which, at that time, had primary responsibility to pull together the portfolio unit numbers and policy costing for the budget and mid year economic review releases.

This was a great period in my life. I had the opportunity to work on sheep and cattle properties from the Riverina in New South Wales to Blackall in Queensland. The family property was in Wyandra Queensland and using that as a base I was able to work around the Cunnamulla area on short mustering contracts while still providing support to the family property. As fun as this period was, the family property was simply not large enough to support all, so after redoing my final years schooling by distance education I left for university.
