The hardware team of TomTom was responsible for developing the navigation hardware for automotive manufactures. The team developed 4 consecutive systems.My task as a hardware designer within this team was:- Designing digital functionality, FPGA, VHDL- Writing low level software for hardware team for hardware testing and validation- Validation of navigation hardware- Assist of first bring-up of new hardware in China- Problem solving for hardware and software

With a small project team the second and third generation ASIC was developed for navigation systems. The responsibility of the team was developing IP blocks and the total simulation of the ASIC. IP block developed:- 2.5D graphics accelerator for drawing navigation maps with anti-aliasing - SDCARD interface- IDE controller- ADPCM encoder/decoder- Framegrabber
