About Martina Yang

Curiosity, logic, and perfectionism have been the driving forces throughout my biomedical journey. With a bachelor's degree in clinical medicine, I have had the privilege of exploring the fascinating field of medicine. My year of clinical rotations gave me firsthand experience with the complexities and wonders of the human body.Fueled by a passion for uncovering the mechanisms behind diseases, I volunteered in an oncology lab for three years. This opportunity expanded my knowledge beyond medical school, introducing me to R programming, bioinformatics, machine learning, R Shiny website development, statistics, and scientific writing. My growing interest in biomedicine led me to complement my dry lab skills with wet lab experience, through internships in various labs where I learned fundamental experimental techniques.These experiences culminated in my pursuit of a master's degree at McGill University. McGill offers a fantastic platform with immense resources. Currently, I am honing my skills in Python, MATLAB, LaTeX, genomics, and a variety of exciting wet lab experiments.
