Tempty Foods was selected as a promising startups accepted to the InnoFounder 2022-2023 cohort. Aside from mentorship and startup guidance, InnoFounder provided our team with a grant of 1M DKK to support our efforts in helping to transition our food system towards a more sustainable one.

One of the experiences that makes you grow as a professional, but mainly as a person. That's how I would summarize my 6-weeks at an NGO Mama Africa Pendo in Mathare slums, Nairobi. Throughout the time in Mama Africa Pendo, we improved the structure of one of the sub-projects called Women2Business that focuses on providing micro-loans to women to start small businesses in the Mathare slum. We implemented saving accounts, which serve as an insurance - if something happens to the women, they can start over with the money they have saved up. So far, all women are saving up money as agreed, but it's too early to look into the results in numbers. However, the biggest achievement of the 6-weeks was a charitable soccer tournament #GoalForEducation hosting over 350 kids from slums that my team managed to organize just in 3 weeks from the initial idea. Thanks to all the team efforts, we managed to get sponsors for t-shirts, trophies & awards, DJ & Music, jumping castle and food, and still raise extra money for the education of kids in the slums. And lastly, but importantly, we managed to establish a new relationship with an organization Color Run Kenya which let some of our kids from Mathare enjoy their fun run with all the other participants.Looking back at my 6-weeks in Nairobi, I can say with no hesitation that I did my best to help the organization continue and improve the great work that they have been doing for the past 2 years. I am grateful for the experience and look forward to working on many more projects that benefit the society.
