Catholic Health Initiatives is the 3rd largest non-profit healthcare system in the U.S., with 78 hospitals, 30 rural hospitals and over 350 clinics, in 20 states.As Director I leveraged a proven track record in establishing an IT vision and developing strategies for leading people, implementing and overseeing technology programs and administering multi-million dollar budgets to better meet the IT needs of the business.In this role I provided leadership and direction for the Infrastructure & Architecture Group while holding authority for the shared infrastructure team and associated technologies including a staff of 6 direct report managers and over 120 support personnel across the nation managing over 3,750 server devices, 4 PetaBytes of data, 45,000 user accounts and mailboxes across 25 active directory domains and 2 data center environments.From a strategic standpoint I delivered overall architectural leadership while serving as chair of the IT Standards Committee. Some key achievements include: ★ Guiding the transformation from a holding company with a federated IT organization to an operating company with a shared services IT model.★ Developing and managing yearly budgets in excess of $20M for operating and $10M for capital.★ Negotiating significant savings on contracts with software, hardware and services vendors that resulted in combined annual savings of more than $1.2M related to server hardware, server maintenance and networking circuits.★ Delivering additional savings of $500K over two years by consolidating Storage Area Networks and improving availability of critical data.★ Developing and executing a 5 year infrastructure roadmap to transform aged physical technologies that were in the 99.8% range to a highly available 99.99% virtualized infrastructure.★ Enabling higher performing people to create a multi path approach to career development by developing a formal succession plan with stretch goals.

As well I managed or directed all in-house development, systems integration and implementation and infrastructure projects. Key improvements achieved under my direction included:★ Collaborating with corporate leadership and global teams to create and implement strategic plans driving development and launch of a “Follow the Sun” support systems.★ Serving as an integral team member of the design, and build team for the new primary data center in Rancho Cordova, CA. ★ Migrating all US based systems and equipment from the San Francisco based data center to the new data center and consolidating operations over a 6 month period to effectively streamline operations and improve overall availability from a purpose built data center.

IntegreTel is a San Jose-based telecommunications service provider. As Manager of Computer Operations provided leadership to a data center operations team at IntegreTel and at AT&T after its acquisition of IntegreTel. Key initiatives included: ★ Successfully relocating the data center operations team from shared data center location to a standalone facility managed by in house personnel.★ Transitioning production processing to new IBM VM platform to streamline output from high speed printers to online batch reports electronically distributed.★ Working closely with the AT&T labor relations team to transition IntegreTel non-exempt operations team to the Communications Workers of America (CWA) union environment following the AT&T / IntegreTel merger.
