Employed by Balfour Beatty as Commercial Director for a £6.2billion, 30 year PFI (DBFO) business operating as Connect Plus Services covering one of busiest road networks (the M25) in Europe. Connect Plus Services is a significant business providing services covering Highways Operations and Maintenance, Project Delivery, Asset Maintenance and Lifecycle Maintenance.Although I reported directly to the Connect Plus Services Board I am responsible for a sizeable Commercial (QS) team across 3 key offices upon the M25 network.Main responsibilities included (not exhaustive): Commercial team development Strategic change Setting direction Risk evaluation and Management Client relationships Profitability Growth Procurement (Supply Chain Management)

I was employed by Babcock International as Head of Commercial for both the Regional Prime Contract East & Regional Prime Contract South West [Both Substantial Defence Contracts] as part of the Prime contract demobilisations. I was commercially responsible for the successful close out of both contracts and the shutdown of both Joint Ventures.

I was responsible for all Commercial issues upon 2 large Utility Frameworks. This included considerable client interaction, strategic thinking and plenty of people and time management. I took responsibility for profit/loss, cost analyses and reduction. WIP, cashlow, budgeting, forecasting. I worked hand in glove with our operations teams and supported those functions with a small but able commercial team.I reported into my Business Unit Directors on monthly basis in a formal fashion whilst maintaining almost daily contact with them too.This role was wide and varied.

As Commercial Manager I was fully commercially responsible for R&M and Metering contracts primarily with Thames Water. I worked closely with both Operations and Senior Management and Directors within the ClancyDocwra Group. Disciplines covered were valuations, pricing, CVRs, applications, invoicing and cash collections. Monthly internal reports, letter writing and change control.
